The Vision
THE VISION: WHY GATHER MEN TOGETHER?
The Catholic Men of Delmarva, incorporated in June 2025 as a nonprofit
organization in Delaware, serves the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington in addressing
the spiritual needs of men seeking deeper, meaningful, and personal relationships
with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ through annual conferences.
The organization strives to positively impact parishes and missions within the
Diocese by strengthening men in their roles as sons, husbands, fathers, brothers,
and servant leaders through the intercession of the Holy Spirit, Our Blessed
Mother and Saint Joseph.
Evidence exists that men have received and accepted the call to the Priesthood and
the Diaconate through similar men’s conferences; our plan is to assist in delivering
that success measure on behalf of the Diocese.
The Purpose
THE PURPOSE: WHAT WE HOPE TO ACHIEVE?
Bringing men together from the Diocese offers two significant goals:
1. Experiencing a wider community of welcome and hospitality. Participants
spanning the six Deaneries of the Diocese in Delaware and the Eastern Shore of
Maryland will experience being part of a larger Church community and will
gain a collective feeling of welcome, connection, and affirmation.
2. Encouraging men in their faith. Bringing all men together from the Diocese to
celebrate their roles in the faith as husbands, fathers, sons and servant leaders.
THE AUDIENCE: WHO IS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE?
Parishes and Mission churches of the Diocese are asked to encourage men to
participate in the faith-building Inaugural Conference. Men of other faith
traditions who have interest in Catholicism are also invited to attend the one-day
prayerful retreat.
Parish Captains, a vitally important and critical role of the fellowship, will be
recruited from throughout the Diocese, in concert with Deans and Pastors, to serve
as liaisons on behalf of their respective parishes and mission churches.
The primary audience of male parishioners within the Diocese will include
presently engaged leaders and pastoral ministers, as well as emerging leaders and
younger men.
